Welcome to Garden Lodge, a spacious single-storey retreat set within the historic Tredethy House estate, with far-reaching views across the Camel Valley. Light-filled and comfortably furnished, the lodge brings everyone together through its open-plan kitchen and dining area, which flows into an inviting lounge with a cosy wood burner.
Outside, a generous enclosed garden provides plenty of room to relax, dine and enjoy the peaceful countryside setting. Guests also have access to the shared heated outdoor swimming pool from May to September, making Garden Lodge a wonderful choice for family holidays, relaxed getaways with friends and memorable stays in North Cornwall.

The sitting room is light and comfortable, with large patio doors leading directly onto the private garden and views across the Camel Valley. A log burner makes the space especially cosy for autumn and winter stays.
There is a 32-inch Smart TV and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. The sitting room adjoins the open plan kitchen and dining area, keeping the main living spaces sociable and connected.
Eating & Dining
The open-plan kitchen and dining area is a sociable space for sharing leisurely breakfasts, family suppers and relaxed evenings together. Garden Lodge’s well-equipped kitchen includes an electric cooker with extractor fan, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge-freezer, giving you everything needed for a comfortable self-catering stay.
Sleeping & Bathing
Garden Lodge has three comfortable bedrooms and sleeps up to six guests. Bedroom one has a double bed, bedroom two can be arranged as either a super-king or twin room, and bedroom three is furnished with twin beds, offering a flexible layout for families and groups of friends.
Two bathrooms make shared stays easy: one has a bath and the other a shower, and both include heated towel rails for added comfort.
Outside Space
Patio doors open from the living area onto Garden Lodge’s generous private enclosed garden, where outdoor seating and sweeping views across the Camel Valley create an inviting setting for morning coffee, leisurely meals or evening drinks. Surrounded by fields and woodland, the lodge feels wonderfully peaceful, with the Camel Trail close by for scenic walks and cycle rides. Guests also have access to the shared heated outdoor swimming pool from May to September.
Parking
Private off-road parking for up to three cars is available directly beside Garden Lodge, making arrival and unloading straightforward.
Accessibility
Garden Lodge offers spacious accommodation arranged entirely on one level. Please be aware that there are steps into some rooms, which may affect suitability for guests with limited mobility. Contact us before booking if you would like to discuss the layout or any specific accessibility requirements.
Babies & Children
Little ones are very welcome at Garden Lodge, with space for one infant under two in addition to the lodge’s usual guest capacity. A travel cot and highchair are available on request; simply let us know when booking.
Dogs
One well-behaved small or medium-sized dog is very welcome at Garden Lodge for an additional charge of £35 per week per dog. Please include your dog when booking so that the arrangements can be confirmed in advance.

Historic Helland Bridge
Tucked away in the peaceful hamlet of Hellandbridge, this beautiful early 15th-century stone bridge crosses the River Camel and is one of the area’s most characterful landmarks.
Grade II listed, its ancient arches and tranquil riverside setting offer a wonderful glimpse into Cornwall’s past. Just moments from The Forge and close to the Camel Trail, it’s a lovely spot for a gentle wander, photography or simply slowing down and enjoying the surroundings.
Explore the Camel Trail
The Camel Trail is one of Cornwall’s most popular walking and cycling routes, following a former railway line through beautiful countryside and alongside the Camel Estuary. The largely traffic-free trail connects Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow, offering an enjoyable day out for couples, families and cyclists of all abilities.
Along the way, you’ll pass peaceful woodland, open countryside and wonderful estuary views, with plenty of lovely places to stop for refreshments. Whether you explore a short section or make a day of it, the Camel Trail is a fantastic way to discover North Cornwall.
Camel Valley Vineyard
Nestled in the beautiful Cornish countryside near Bodmin, Camel Valley Vineyard is a lovely place to relax and enjoy a taste of Cornwall. Visitors can sample locally produced wines while taking in peaceful views across the vines and surrounding Camel Valley.
Tours and tasting experiences are available at selected times, offering an interesting insight into how the vineyard’s wines are produced. It’s a wonderful addition to a day exploring the Camel Trail and the surrounding countryside.

Pentire Costal Walk
The Pentire coastal walk is one of North Cornwall’s most rewarding routes, with sweeping sea views, dramatic cliffs and beautiful open countryside. The trail takes you around Pentire Point towards The Rumps, with wonderful views across to Polzeath, the Camel Estuary and out towards Lundy Island on a clear day.
It’s a peaceful place to enjoy Cornwall’s rugged coastline, spot seabirds and take in the changing colours of the landscape. With some uneven and steep sections, sturdy footwear is recommended—but the views are well worth the effort.
