Steps from the Estuary shoreline
Just steps from the shoreline of the Camel Estuary in Rock, this stunning location offers sweeping tidal views, golden sands, and easy access to the water. Popular for sailing, paddleboarding, and beach walks, the estuary combines natural beauty with a relaxed coastal atmosphere. At low tide, vast stretches of sand appear, while high tide brings sparkling waters ideal for boating and swimming. It’s a unique setting that blends tranquillity with the lively charm of nearby Padstow and the North Cornwall coast.
Near the ferry and water taxi to Padstow
A charming passenger ferry links Rock with Padstow, running regularly across the Camel Estuary. The short ride (just a few minutes) offers beautiful views of the harbour, sandy shores, and surrounding coastline. It’s a convenient and scenic way to explore both sides of the estuary — enjoy Padstow’s bustling shops and restaurants by day, then return to the calmer pace of Rock by evening. In summer months, the ferry runs frequently, making it easy to hop back and forth without needing to drive the longer route around.

Padstow is a charming harbour town where every street invites exploration. Stroll through its winding lanes lined with boutique shops, independent galleries, and artisan food stores, each offering a taste of Cornwall’s character. Pause for coffee in a cosy café, enjoy freshly caught fish and chips by the quay, or indulge in fine dining from acclaimed chefs like Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth. Whether you’re browsing for local crafts, treating yourself to Cornish delicacies, or settling in for a memorable meal, Padstow’s vibrant mix of flavours and experiences makes it a destination to savour.
