A little left over can go a long way.
At SeaMoor Stays, one thing we kept noticing was how much perfectly good food can be left behind when guests head home.
A few tins. An unopened packet of pasta. Cereal, tea, coffee, biscuits all still perfectly usable, but often left behind simply because guests don’t want to pack everything back into the car.
It didn’t feel right to see good food going to waste when there are local families and individuals who could make use of it.
So, we decided to do something simple.
SeaMoor Cares & Shares gives guests an easy way to leave suitable unopened, in-date food behind at the end of their stay. Our housekeeping team checks and collects the donations, and suitable items are then passed to Wadebridge Foodbank to help support our local community.
For us, it’s also about being a responsible local business. We’re proud to welcome visitors to North Cornwall, but we also believe tourism could help in giving something back to the communities that make this area so special.
Small acts. BIG impact.
How it works
- When you leave
If you have any suitable unopened, in-date food left at the end of your stay, simply place it in the SeaMoor Cares & Shares collection box in your holiday home. - We check
Our housekeeping team checks the items during the changeover and makes sure everything is suitable to be donated. - We share
Accepted items are collected and passed on to Wadebridge Foodbank, helping reduce waste and support people in our local community. - Prefer to donate directly?
You can also support Wadebridge Foodbank by scanning the QR code in your SeaMoor Cares & Shares information and making a financial donation directly.
Thank you for helping us turn holiday leftovers into community support ❤️.
Items that food banks need most are:- quick cook foods, noodles, soups and rice, long-life juice and squash, tinned fruit, veggies, meat and fish, UHT milk, toiletries like toothpaste, soap, and deodorant.
